Challenges and Outcomes
The Gaythorne project involved the renovation of nine four-bedroom, double-storey homes for a Government housing community in Queensland. Initially scoped for four homes, CBC Group successfully secured an additional tender win for a further five dwellings, expanding the project to a total of nine homes.
This scope change required a complete reassessment of the construction methodology and project scheduling. Our team implemented a concurrent build strategy, allowing all homes to progress simultaneously and ensuring unified project delivery. Effective project management, detailed trade scheduling, and proactive procurement were key to maintaining efficiency, quality, and cost control throughout the multi-phase program.
A strong focus on local procurement, material upcycling, and recycling initiatives reinforced our commitment to sustainable construction outcomes. Through consistent stakeholder engagement and transparent communication, our core values of unity, integrity, and excellence were upheld. The result was a successful, on-time, and on-budget delivery of 9 quality homes and another happy customer.
