CBC Group CEO Erm Morelli recently took part in the 2018 Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride. Erm joined over 200 immaculately dressed local motorcycle enthusiasts for this year’s ride through the Illawarra region and in the process helped raise over $60,000 that will go towards research into prostate cancer, mental health and suicide prevention programs.

The Distinguished Gentleman’s Ride was founded in Sydney in 2012 and that first ride brought together over 2,500 riders across 64 cities. The concept of a themed ride was developed as a way to combat the often-negative stereotype of men on motorcycles, whilst connecting niche motorcycle communities together and raising money for a good cause.

This year’s ride was a truly global event with over 114,000 riders taking part in rides conducted in over 580 cities in 90+ countries around the world. The 2018 ride has so far raised over $6 million.

Participants in the ride were dressed in all their finery with many having donned cravats, tustled their ties, pressed their tweed, along with many who went all out and dressed in their finest dinner suits and bow ties.

Said Erm of the ride, “this was the second year the ride was held in the Illawarra and it was great to be part of it. Not only was it an opportunity to meet up with like-minded people who share my passion for motorcycles and riding but its good to know we’re doing our bit raising awareness, and much needed funding to combat two important men’s health issues.”

Through sponsorship Erm raised over $5000 on the day that will go towards funding vitally needed research and support programs. Anyone still wishing to make a donation can do so at www.gentlemansride.com/fundraiser/ErmondMorelli251321
